Sophomore Reviews (Schedule + Room Numbers)

Please check your corresponding room assignments and suggested time of pin up for the Sophomore Reviews next week. Students presenting after lunch (1:30-3:00) can setup in Rm 103 anytime after 10:30am.

Professionally printed/bound process book and final DVD must be ready by start of your time slot. Late work will not be accepted. **Please dress professionally for your final review.

Week 16 Day 2 (Wednesday, Dec 8) - Homework

1. Continue assembling your process book that will include both Visual Communications I and Design Technology projects and refining projects 1-3. 

2. Complete course evaluation for Design Tech (log on with your 4x4 at http://eval.ou.edu)

Process book and projects due next week during Sophomore Reviews (Dec 15 + 16)

I plan on covering motion design and interactive design exercises next semester in Visual Communications II, prepare to use additional software such as Dreamweaver, Flash Catalyst, After Effects/Apple Motion (plan to acquire these programs accordingly)

If interested in purchasing a custom web domain with hosting space, I recommend 1and1.com. The Linux 1&1 beginner hosting package costs $4.99 a month---that package includes 1 web domain; 50 GB web space; 250 e-mail accounts; 

All OU Student have a school assigned web sub-domain and 1 GB worth of server space. Find Hosting website with portfolio.ou.edu instructions here (*you must grant public permissions for all files/folders for others to see your site with a password)

Week 13 Day 2 (Thursday, Nov 17) - Homework

1. Continue to refine and improve projects 1-3 in preparation for development of process book. 

2. Complete InDesign Exercise (for Nov 17)

a) Create a 10 page document in InDesign, Letter sized, Landscape orientation, facing pages, use either 5 or 7 columns

b) Using and applying Masters, add a footer to all pages that contains your first and last name and current page number.

c)  First page must have 9 different images. All images must be placed into a consistently sized square frame, and aligned/distributed evenly in a 3x3 grid structure.

d) On pages 2-10, place 1-2 images and 1 paragraph of lorem ipsum text on each page (one large image, one small close up image). Layout structure of image and text should be consistent throughout all pages.

e) Submit PDF of final document to "InDesign Exercise (nov 17) Submission" Dropbox folder by the start of next class, Tuesday, Nov 22 at 4:30pm.
